  1. What types of artwork do you accept?

    We accept just about any format, including .jpg, .pdf, .tiff, .raw, .eps, and .ai (up to Adobe CS4) in either RGB or CMYK color mode.

    If your artwork contains text, please make sure all text is converted to outlines to avoid font issues.

    Ideally, images should be 100dpi at full size but we can work with lower resolution if necessary and still produce a great-looking standup. If you're using a digital camera, anything above 3-4 megapixel is usually acceptable for a life-size standup as long as the subject is fairly large in the frame. Just make sure your camera is set at its highest image quality setting when taking your picture.

    Don't have a digital file? No problem! We'll scan your paper photo for an additional $10.00 and return it with your order. Simply check "Scan my paper photo instead of uploading" when you order.

    Note: "Business Days" generally means Monday-Friday, with the exception of shipping holidays observed by UPS (Available Here). Holidays listed by UPS as "recognized" are considered business days as long as they do not fall on weekends.
    Rush orders must be placed by 1:00pm Eastern time, and all artwork approved by 2:00pm EST, for same-business-day shipping.
    Rush orders placed AFTER 1:00pm will ship out on the next business day.

    *On-Time Guarantee: If your order does not ship from our location on-time, based on production time option (rush or standard) you selected when you placed your order, and you cannot use your product as a result, simply return your unopened package for a complete refund. Only unused products, in the original sealed Party Standups package will be accepted for refund. Delivery delays due to inclement weather or acts of God are not eligible for refund. Delivery date guarantee does NOT apply to international orders or orders delayed due to poor artwork, proof approval or other customer-caused delay. Refunds issued for carrier-caused late delivery are limited to shipping charges only.
    International Customers: Due to possible delays with customs or carriers, we do not offer guaranteed-date shipping outside the United States. We will, however, make all reasonable efforts to ensure your order is delivered on-time. Customer is responsible for any duties and fees imposed by customs or carrier.
    Free Shipping: While do we strive to meet all reasonable date requests, Free Shipping carries NO guarantee of delivery date unless you have selected Rush Production. Free Shipping may not be combined with quantity discount or any other offer, unless otherwise specified.
    If you need your order by a specific date or for a special event, please indicate that in the "special instructions" on your order. We will contact you promptly if there is any issue meeting your deadline.

    24-Hour rush service is available for an additional $25.00 per item.
    Rush orders placed before 12:00 noon EST ship the same business day. If your order is deadline-critical, please call prior to placing your order to check service availability.

    While we strive to process all orders as quickly as possible, production times shown on our website are estimates only based on our current average turnaround times.

    Production times may be slightly longer for complex artwork, problems with files submitted or other artwork delays, or orders placed during peak times such as the holiday season. If you need your order by a specific date, please indicate the date in "special instructions" when you place your order. If we are unable to meet your deadline, we will contact you as soon possible.

    An incomplete address, inaccurate address or zip code may delay your order.

  3. What are your standups made of?

    • Durable Plastic is perfect if you plan on re-using your standup, need to place it outside, or otherwise are looking for an extremely durable product. The entire standup is washable with mild soapy water.
    • Economical Cardboard is the best choice for indoor one-time use at a special event, an inexpensive gag gift, or other use where moisture and durability are not an issue. The face of the standup is washable with mild soapy water as long as it does not contact the cardboard.

  4. How do I send my photo or artwork to you?


    We accept artwork or photos by any of 5 different methods:
    1. Upload Directly to Shopping Cart (recommended)

      If ordering online, click on the "browse" button on the product info page, find the file on your computer, select any other product options and click on "Add to Cart". A progress window will appear and your file will upload directly into your shopping cart and will be sent to us as soon as you complete the checkout procedure. Note: File size limit for this method is 50MB

    2. b. E-mail Your File

      After you place your order (either by phone or online), you will receive a confirmation e-mail with a unique order number. Simply reply to that e-mail with your artwork attached or send a new e-mail with your order number in the subject line to info@partystandups.com. Note: We do not have a size limit on incoming e-mail but do not recommend this method for files over 30MB as some Internet Service Providers block larger attachments.

    3. Upload Your File Directly

      If your files are over 50MB or you need to upload a replacement file for your order, please use our File Upload utility. Be sure to include your order number in the subject and your contact info in the message.

      We do not display ftp login information online for security reasons. Please call for login details.

      Please upload your file(s) into the httpdocs directory and send an e-mail to info@partystandups.com containing your order number and file name(s) so we can retrieve your artwork promptly.

    4. Mail a Disk or Flash Memory Stick

      After you place your order, mail your artwork on disk or flash memory stick with your order number prominently written on the package to:

      If you would like us to return your disk or flash drive, please include a note to that effect and we will be happy to return it with your completed order.

    5. Mail a Paper Photo or Print

      After you place your order, mail your photo or paper artwork (up to 8 " x 11") with your order number prominently written on the package to:

      If you would like us to return artwork or photo, please include a note to that effect and we will be happy to return it with your completed order. While we do our absolute best to protect your photo, we cannot be responsible for original photos sent to us. A $10.00 scanning fee applies.

  5. Do you charge extra for more than one person on a standup?

    We do not charge extra for additional people or objects as long as the standup falls within the maximum size shown on the product detail page for each item. If you would like several people in your standup and it exceeds the maximum size, we can still produce it but additional charges will apply and it may ship in separate panels.

  6. What is the largest standup you can produce?

    There is no limit to the size we can produce. Due to the size of the sheets we work with and the limitations of our computer-controlled cutting equipment, sizes larger than 4'x8' will be produced in multiple panels.

  7. How do you ship?

    Orders ship either UPS or USPS depending on size, weight and transit time to the US and most countries worldwide. We are currently offering FREE Ground shipping on all orders over $50, anywhere in the continental US.* Delivery time is NOT guaranteed on free ground shipping. If your order is for an event or specific date, please choose one of our date-guaranteed options (starting at $10.00)

  8. Will my standup(s) require assembly?

    See our Assembly Instructions for details.
    To avoid costly oversize shipping charges (which can cost more than the standup itself) and to minimize the chances that your product will sustain any damage in shipping, standups over 36" tall ship folded in half or in thirds with the easel as a separate piece. To assemble your standup, simple unfold it face-down on a clean surface, remove the protective paper from the adhesive on the easel, and stick the easel to the back of the standup. We carefully score the back of each standup and the materials we use are specially selected to minimize the visibility of the fold lines. If you are especially concerned about the fold lines, we recommend the plastic material option as the folds are the cleanest and least visible when the standup has been assembled.

  9. I'd like some changes made to my photo or artwork. Can you do that?

    Absolutely! Basic alterations (replacing a face, adding legs, removing an object, etc.) can usually be done for a flat $25.00 fee, available in the product ordering options, which covers 1/2 hour of design time and electronic proofs. More complex alterations or custom design will be billed at our hourly rate of $50.00 per hour. Basic adjustments such as redeye removal or basic color adjustment will be done at no additional charge. Just specify the adjustment you'd like in the "special instructions" when you place your order.

  10. Do I need to remove the background from my photo before I send it to you?

    We will remove the background from your photo for you. If there is something special you'd like us to do when cutting the outside shape, please indicate specifically what you would like done in the "special instructions" on your order. While we do normally cut right to the edge of the person or object in your standup, it is necessary to leave some background at the bottom to make a base wide enough for stability. If your photo or artwork contains very fine objects (such as fishing poles or golf clubs), it may be necessary for us to leave some background around those objects to keep them from folding over or to otherwise make the standup strong enough.

  11. What is your return / refund policy?

    If you have chosen a guaranteed-date shipping option and / or rush service, the delivery date of your order is guaranteed. If your order arrives past the guarantee date due to a late shipment from our location and you cannot use your product as a result, you may be eligible for a complete refund if the product is returned to us unopened and has not been assembled or used. Please contact us prior to returning your product for return authorization.

    Refunds for late delivery caused by shipping carrier delays, inclement weather or acts of God are strictly limited to shipping charges.

    As we only produce custom products that are non-returnable and cannot be re-sold to other customers, all sales are final.

    In the rare case you should be unhappy with the print or cut quality of the product you receive, simply return it to us and we will gladly re-print and re-ship at our sole expense if the issue is determined to be our error.

    Orders may not be cancelled once artwork setup and / or printing has begun.

    Additional fees (if applicable) for artwork setup or proofing are nonrefundable.
